The 2 Gordons return with a bumper episode to celebrate Fēis Ile (The Islay Whisky Festival) which normally would take place now in late May, but unfortunately has been cancelled this year. There are of course many virtual events to catch up on however from this wonderful island of whisky.
We speak to John Campbell, Distillery Manager at Laphroaig on all thing Islay, peat and of course about producing this iconic dram.
A to Z’s reach the letter G, and as a result we explore distilleries starting with Glens.
“A Year that Changed Whisky” this week is 1295.
Settle in and enjoy ……. Slainthe!

This was my favorite episode so far, thank you! I am also one of the million Friends of Laphroaig, having gone on an insane (?) bicycle tour of the then eight Islay distilleries some years back. A double shot of Mr. Campbell (I attended the virtual Fèis Ìle open house on Tuesday) was greatly appreciated. On that bicycle tour I had a memorable whisky moment at Bunnahabhain... I'll send the particulars via the Glengoyne page. Looking forward to next week!
